CHARITABLE SPIRIT ALIVE AND WELL DESPITE RECESSION

Our Super Draw has shown that the charitable spirit in Newport is flourishing despite the recession, raising almost seventeen thousand pounds for good causes in the city.

The culmination of nine months hard work was a grand draw at Newport Rugby Club, where the substantial total was unveiled.

The generosity of the people of Newport was matched by harpist Bethan Nia and town poet Goff Morgan, who both gave their services for free at the draw, and provided top class entertainment into the bargain.
