Carers
Project 
The Rotary Club of Newport Uskmouth set up the project to help approximately 200 Young Carers in the city of Newport, South Wales. These children were identified through a local voluntary organisation as being in need of additional help. Such organisations exist throughout the United Kingdom. Rotary is able to give these most deserving of youngsters experiences, which might not normally be available to them. For example, sporting events, outward bound, climbing centres, Zoos, Safari Parks, canoeing or a day at a theme park.
These activities allied to the expertise and experience inherent within any Rotary Club can encourage the Young Carers to develop their personal skills, enhance their self esteem, foster in them a more positive view of themselves and help them to make more informed decisions about their lives.
These children, through no choice of their own, are thrust into the caring role. They need and deserve encouragements and recognition for what they do.
